Bred in Germany, this white grape hybrid has been selected for its disease resistance and excellent quality fruits. It produces good sized grapes in densely packed bunches. When fully ripe in October, these grapes have a light Muscat aroma and an excellent flavour, making them ideal for eating fresh from the vine or for wine-making. With their large leaves and good autumn colour, this also makes an attractive garden feature when trained over a pergola.
Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years.
Estimated time to best yields: 3 years.Choose a sunny position in any well drained soil. Before planting, prepare a framework of wires stretched horizontally between two sturdy 1.8m posts or attached to a warm wall. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant against the wire supports, allowing a distance of 2m between plants. After planting, reduce the newly planted vine back to the height of the lowest support wire, cut back any side shoots to one bud before tying the main stem to the supporting wires. Water only during dry periods as excessive watering can reduce the quality of the fruit. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the vines in spring to retain moisture at their roots throughout summer. Prune grape vines in winter and train them in summer. Do not allow them to carry a crop of grapes until their second summer.Caution: Contact may irritate the skin.Position: Full Sun
